Overview & History of Causeway Enterprise Agency

Causeway Enterprise Agency is the local enterprise agency responsible for enterprise development and support within the Causeway Coast & Glens Council area where we have 3 administration bases and 4 enterprise parks with 133 multi-purpose workspace units to let.

The company is an independent, business support organisation dedicated to building a strong and sustainable local economy by helping both new and established small businesses to maximise their potential through the provision of funded business training, workshops and mentoring. Our programmes are secured through tendering with free impartial advice subsidised through income generated from rental of our workspace units.

We are embedded within the local business and education community and enjoy strong relationships with our key stakeholders within economic development, MLAs, schools, Chambers of Commerce, Invest NI, local businesses and councils. The Agency employs 8 specialist front-end delivery and support staff, all with expertise and a proven track record in business development, advice, mentoring and training for entrepreneurship and enterprise skills.

Strategic Aims

CEA strategic aims are to promote enterprise in education, encourage enterprising people and build business capacity. Income is derived from the rental of small business units and conferencing facilities and also through securing contracts for the delivery of targeted programmes.

Economically disadvantaged individuals are supported through the DEL Steps to Work programme and also the Exploring Enterprise Programme funded by ESF (through Enterprise N.I.) and local Council. Micro business development is supported through the Think Big, Think Online Marketing and Tradelinks programmse, funded by ERDF through ENI local councils and Invest NI.
